On Tuesday 24th Onyedi, Shanie, Martynas and I made the trip to Reading to meet and interview one of our contributors. We set off at 9.45 to drive down and see Juliette Ward, a specialist bereavement midwife who also runs her own antenatal classes helping parents in special circumstances prepare for their baby.

As we arrived Juliette met us at the door and welcomed us in to her home. Shanie and Juliette went into the kitchen so that they could discuss the interview and have a cup of tea, while Onyedi and Martynas began to set up the kit and find the best space to conduct the interview. We sat Juliette down and after about 25 minutes we wrapped up on set. Juliette spoke with such a passion about helping families dealing with rainbow pregnancies and about bereavement midwifery, we want to ensure that everyone sees the entirety of her interview. As part of our digital content we will post full interviews with our contributors on both here and YouTube after the full film has been shot and edited.

After wrapping our wonderful interview with Juliette we went to some of the most recognisable places in Reading to shoot some cutaway material for the film. We went to Forbury park to get some footage of the iconic Reading lion and to Dinton Pastures to film some relaxing shots of the lake and wildlife. It was a peaceful end to the day after having discussed a heavy and emotional subject.

The crew of Stillborn would like to thank Juliette for speaking with us, sharing her expertise on this topic and giving us such a warm welcome into her home. We are excited to show what she has to say but until then, heres a short behind the scenes from the day for you.
